The Colton Legion team used a big third inning to help them to a 11-4 win over Dell Rapids in Dell Rapids on Tuesday, June 16th.
Dell Rapids scored three runs in the bottom of the first for an early 3-0 lead. Treyson Richter scored on an error in the top of the second do put Colton on the board. Then came the third-inning rally. Denton Bicknase tied the game with a two-run single. Braxton Allen delivered a three-run double, and Parker Hemme added an RBI single for a 7-3 lead.
Colton would add four more runs in the top of the sixth. Mason Hemme scored on a wild pitch. Richter drove home another run with a double. Cole Hendrickson followed with an RBI triple and then later scored on an error. Dell Rapids scored just one more time in the bottom of the sixth.
Richter had two hits, one a double, and an RBI. Allen had a double and three RBIs. Bicknase added a single and two RBIs. Hendrickson had a triple and an RBI. P. Hemme had a single and an RBI. Brody Dybvig and Tristen Bunde each had a hit.
Bicknase pitched five innings and allowed three earned runs on eight hits and four walks with seven strikeouts. Bunde pitched two innings and allowed an unearned run on two hits with two strikeouts.
