The two Tri-Valley 16U baseball teams did battle against one another on Thursday, June 22nd. Maroon was victorious over White by a score of 11-1.
White 16U scored a run in the top of the first on a single. Maroon 16U took the lead with two runs in the bottom of the first. The score remained 2-1 in favor of Maroon after two innings. Maroon 16U then scored four runs in the bottom of the third, one in the bottom of the fourth, one in the fifth, and then three more in the sixth for the win.
For Tri-Valley Maroon, Carter Sorenson had three hits, a single, double, and triple. Kaiden Bernards had two hits and two RBIs. Cyrus Kirstein finished with two hits and an RBI. Denton Bicknase had a hit with two RBIs. Hunter Foster added a double and an RBI. Tristen Budne, Mason Hemme, and Parker Hemme all had a single and an RBI. Gage Egger had an RBI. Bicknase pitched three innings and allowed an unearned run on two hits with four strikeouts. Sorenson pitched three innings and allowed one hit while striking out five.
For Tri-Valley White, Ben Myhre had a single and an RBI. Austin Puetz and Nolan Schmidt each had a single. Myhre pitched 4 2/3 innings and allowed eight runs, seven earned, on 11 hits and three walks with six strikeouts. Blaine Wieczorek pitched 1/3 of an inning and allowed three runs, one earned, on a hit and a walk.
