The Dell Rapids Mudcats blasted five home runs and cruised to a 10-0 win over Colman in their first game of the District 4B Tournament in Canova on Saturday, July 27th.
After two scoreless innings, Dell Rapids put six runs on the board in the third inning for a 6-0 lead. They added another run in the fourth to extend the lead to 7-0. Two more runs were scored in the sixth inning, and then one final run in the seventh to end the game on the 10-run rule.
Trevor Freudenthal and Kris Regas both had three hits each. Carter Gullickson blasted two home runs and had five RBIs. Chad Hunt had two hits, one of them a double. Mark Abrahamson had a home run and two RBIs. Josh Roeman and Kole Zimmerman also each had a home run and an RBI. Dalton Allen finished with two hits. Regas got the win on the mound allowing just four hits while striking out 14 batters.
