Dell Rapids scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth for a 4-3 win over the Sioux Falls Squirrels on Sunday, June 30th.
The Mudcats got an RBI from Ty Hoglund in the bottom of the second for a 1-0 lead. The Squirrels scored all three of their runs in the top of the third for a 3-1 lead.d. Carter Gullickson added an RBI sacrifice in the third inning to cut the lead to 3-2. The score remained 3-2 until the ninth inning. The Mudcats took advantage of four walks and a hit batter in the bottom of the ninth to score two runs for the win.
Chad Hunt had two hits in the game. Hoglund and Gulllickson both finished with a hit and an RBI. Kris Regas and Dusty Haffeman both had a hit as well. Mark Abrahamson and Josh Roemen both had an RBI. Abrahamson pitched the first eight innings and allowed three runs on three hits with six strikeouts. John Spaeth took the win with one inning of relief.
