Dell Rapids Baseball Wins Suspended Game

A game that started on Sunday, April 7th finally finished on Wednesday, April 10th between Dell Rapids and Flandreau.  The game only made it to the second inning before rain stopped play on Sunday.  The two teams resumed on Wednesday, and Dell Rapids took the win 16-4.

Jack Henry belted a two-run home run in the top of the first inning on Sunday.  Talan Millage added an RBI single for a 3-0 lead.  Flandreau got two runs back in the bottom of the inning.  Dell Rapids added two more runs in the top of the inning for a 5-2 lead before play was suspended.

When the game resumed on Wednesday, the Dell Rapids offense kept rolling.  They took advantage of two errors and a walk and scored four times in the third inning.  Henry and Treyse Eastman both scored on a passed ball in the top of the fourth inning to make the score 11-2.  Flandreau picked up two runs in the bottom of the inning to cut the lead to 11-4.  Dell Rapids got RBI hits from T. Eastman and Millage in the top of fifth for a 13-4 score.  Three more runs scored in the top of the seventh.

Millage had four hits and four RBIs.  Henry had two hits, including a home run, and two RBIs.  T. Eastman also had two hits, one a double, with an RBI.  Brandon Schmidt had a double and RBI.  Tad Tjaden a single with an RBI.  Mason Stubbe, Drake Eastman, and Sutton Williams all had one hit each.  Quinn Carr and Cole Ruesink also had an RBI.  Ruesink started the game and pitched 1/3 of an inning allowing two earned runs on four walks and a strikeout.  Millage pitched the final 6 2/3 innings allowing two unearned runs on four hits and two walks with eight strikeouts.
