Fifth Straight Win for Dell Rapids Baseball

The Dell Rapids high school baseball team won their fifth straight regular season game on Tuesday, April 9th.  A night after winning a double header over Groton, Dell Rapids won a pitcher’s dual against Sioux Falls Christian, 3-1.

Cole Ruesink provided early fireworks with a solo home run to left field in the top of the first inning.  Treyse Eastman scored on a double steal in the top of the third to put Dell Rapids ahead 2-0.  Sioux Falls Christian cut the lead in half in the bottom of the sixth after scoring a run on an error.  Dell Rapids added an insurance run in the top of the seventh when Jack Henry scored on an error.

Tad Tjaden had a strong night on the mound pitching six innings and allowing just one run, which was unearned, on five hits and four walks with six strikeouts.  Drake Eastman got the save pitching the seventh inning walking one and striking out one.

Ruesink had a home run and an RBI.  Henry finished with a triple.  Mason Stubbe and Sutton Williams both had a single in the game.
