After having a couple of games cancelled due to weather, Dell Rapids had their first regular season game of the 2024 season on Wednesday, April 3rd. Dell Rapids traveled to Lennox and earned a 4-2 victory.
Dell Rapids broke a scoreless tie with two runs in the top of the third. Jack Henry had an RBI single, and Treyse Eastman followed with an RBI single as well. Lennox got one run back in the bottom of the fourth to make the score 2-1. The score remained 2-1 until the seventh.
T. Eastman drew a bases-loaded walk with one out to extend the lead to 3-1. Lincoln Fersdahl hit an RBI single after Eastman’s walk to make the score 4-1. Lennox scored one run in the bottom of the seventh, but Dell Rapids ended the inning for the win.
T. Eastman had two hits and two RBIs. Henry finished with two hits and an RBI. Fersdahl finished with a single and an RBI. Tad Tjaden added a double. Talan Millage and Sutton Williams each had one hit. Tjaden pitched 4 1/3 innings and allowed a run, which was unearned, on two hits and four walks with eight strikeouts. Drake Eastman pitched the final 2 2/3 innings allowing an earned run on two hits and two walks and three strikeouts.
