Dell Rapids high school baseball ended their regular season with a 4-0 shutout win over McCook Central/Montrose on Wednesday, May 17th. The win was the 15th straight victory for Dell Rapids.
After two scoreless innings, Jack Henry hit an RBI single in the top of the third for a 1-0 lead. CJ Smith had an RBI ground out in the top of the fourth to push the lead to 2-0. Dell Rapids got a couple of insurance runs in the top of the sixth. Cole Ruesink had an RBI single. Brayden Pankonen followed with an RBI single as well to make the score 4-0.
Pankonen and Ruesink both had two hits and an RBI each. Henry and Smith both finished with a hit and RBI. Treyse Eastman added two doubles. Joe Rechtenbaugh and Will Jaton both had a single. Tad Tjaden pitched seven innings and allowed just two hits and a walk with seven strikeouts.
