The Dell Rapids Quarriers (14-4) hosted #1 Dakota Valley in their final regular season home game on Friday, February 10th. The Panthers shot over 50% for the game and won 79-63.
Dakota Valley built their lead in the first quarter at 18-7. The lead grew to 41-26 by halftime. The Panthers increased the lead a little more in the third quarter and led 63-45 going into the fourth quarter.
Dell Rapids shot 38% (22-58) overall in the game, 32% (11-34) from three-point area, and 8-10 from the free-throw line. Dakota Valley finished the game shooting 53% (35-66) overall, 32% (6-19) from three-point area, and 3-5 from the free-throw line. The Panthers also forced 12 turnovers while only committing six of their own.
Brayden Pankonen had 26 points, four rebounds, and six assists. Jack Henry finished with 15 points and four rebounds. Tad Tjaden ended with eight points and five rebounds. Camden Justice had six points and five rebounds.
The eight seniors were recognized prior to the start of the game. The 2022-2023 Quarrier seniors are Brayden Pankonen, Braden Fersdahl, Will Jaton, Braeden Nirva, Chase Jones, Owen Nelson, Camden Justice, and Luke Randall.
