The Dell Rapids Jr Legion team ran their winning streak to five games after winning on back-to-back nights on Monday, July 6th and Tuesday, July 7th.
Dell Rapids 7, West Central 5
West Central had a four-run lead, but Dell Rapids scored seven straight runs to steal a win. West Central scored a run in the first, a run in the second, and two more in the fifth for a 4-0 lead. Dell Rapids cut the lead to 4-3 with three runs in the bottom of the fifth. They took the lead with four runs in the bottom of the sixth for a 7-4 lead. West Central got one run in the top of the seventh.
AJ Brandenburg had two hits, one a double, and an RBI. Cutler Erickson had two singles and an RBI. Caiden Borns ended with a single and an RBI. Haiden Kaffar, Owen Bollock, Lucas Peppel, and Hayden King all had one hit each. Rhett Thoreson had two RBIs.
Dell Rapids 8, Luverne 5
Dell Rapids scored in four straight innings to build an 8-0 lead. They had three runs in the top of the first, one in the second, one in the third, and three more in the top of the fourth. Luverne scored five times in the bottom of the fourth, but Dell Rapids was able to shut down the rally.
Kaffar had a triple with three RBIs. King had a single with two RBIs. Peppel finished with a hit and an RBI. Charlie Bollock added a double. Borns and Brandenburg each had one hit.
