Dell Rapids PBR earned a big win over the Canova Gang in a low-scoring game at Rickeman Field on Sunday, June 14th. PBR took the win by a score of 3-1.
After a scoreless first inning, Lincoln Fersdahl had an RBI single to put PBR ahead 1-0. The score stayed 1-0 until the bottom of the sixth. Chris Kropuenske had a two-out, RBI single to extend the lead to 2-0. Canova picked up a run in the top of the seventh, but Brayden Pankonen drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the inning to extend the lead back to two runs, 3-1.
Brett Mogen pitched 6 1/3 innings and allowed one run, which was unearned, on four hits with seven strikeouts. Tanner Solberg pitched 1 2/3 innings without allowing a hit. Drew Sweeter tossed one inning and allowed just one hit.
Fersdahl ended with two singles and an RBI. Weston Hansen also had two hits. Kropuenske and Pankonen each had a hit and an RBI. Zach Puetz and Riley Calhoon both ended with one hit.
