The Dell Rapids high school baseball team earned a 7-0 shutout win over Tri-Valley at Rickeman Field on Monday, April 13th.
Connor Hanson put Dell Rapids ahead 1-0 in the top of the first with an RBI double. Carson Maeschen blasted a two-run home run to left field in the bottom of the fourth. Tommy LaVoy had an RBI single later in the inning for a 4-0 lead. Drake Eastman and Kenny Swanson both scored on an error in the bottom of the fifth for a 6-0 score. Lincoln LeBrun scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the sixth.
LeBrun had a triple and a single. Eastman finished with two singles. Maeschen had a home run and two RBIs. Hanson added a double and an RBI. LaVoy had a single with an RBI. Swanson ended with a hit.
Ryan Stubbe pitched 4 2/3 innings and allowed two hits and five walks with nine strikeouts. Joe Trumbauer pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed two walks with three strikeouts.
