After a couple of tough losses, the Dell Rapids Quarrier boys basketball team got back into the win column on Saturday, December 16th. The Quarriers traveled to Aberdeen to play the Roncalli Cavaliers and came home with a 50-31 victory.
The two teams played a close first quarter with Dell Rapids holding a 15-14 lead at the end of it. Dell Rapids added to their slim lead in the second quarter, but only added two points. The Quarriers led 26-23 at halftime. The second half belonged to Dell Rapids. The Cavaliers scored just eight points total in the second half, while the Quarrier offense scored 24 points in the win.
Dell Rapids shot 39% (22-56) overall from the field, but just 19% (4-21) from three-point area, and 2-8 from the free-throw line. Roncalli shot 22% (10-46) overall, 18% (4-22) on three-point attempts, and 50% (7-14) from the free-throw line.
Jack Henry had 19 points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Tad Tjaden finished with 11 points, five rebounds, and three assists. Rhett Kloth had six points, 11 rebounds, and four blocked shots. Lincoln Fersdahl also had six points with three rebounds, and three assists. Cole Ruesink added five points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
