Quarrier Boys Falls at Entringer Classic

After being off for two weeks, the Dell Rapids Quarrier boys basketball team was back in action on Saturday, December 30th at the Entringer Classic in Brookings.  The Quarriers faced the Hamlin Chargers, and the Chargers cruised to a 73-42 victory.

Dell Rapids has a 7-6 lead with 5:15 to play in the opening quarter.  The score was tied 11-11 with 3:05 remaining before Hamlin ended the quarter on a 12-1 run for a 23-12 lead.  The Chargers held Dell Rapids to just three points in the third quarter and led 34-15 at halftime.  They were able to extend their lead to 49-27 at the end of the third quarter.

The Quarriers shot 35% (19-54) overall, 20% (2-10) on three-point attempts, and just 2-7 from the free-throw line.  Hamlin shot 49% (27-55) from the field overall, 38% (11-29) from three-point area, and 73% (8-11) from the free-throw line.

Rhett Kloth had 14 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots.  Jack Henry finished with 10 points, eight rebounds, and four assists.  Tad Tjaden had five points, three rebounds, and three steals.  Carson Maeschen ended with four points.  Cole Ruesink had two points, four rebounds, and three assists.
