The Dell Rapids 16U baseball team won three more games and remained undefeated. They posted wins on three straight days from Thursday, July 6th through Saturday, July 8th.
Dell Rapids 7, SF Christian 5
Sioux Falls Christian led for five innings of the game only to see Dell Rapids rally in the final two. The Chargers scored a run in the bottom of the first, two in the third, and one more in the fifth for a 4-0 lead. Dell Rapids scored two in the top of the sixth and then had a big five-run seventh. Sioux Falls Christian only got one more run in the bottom of the seventh.
Lincoln Fersdahl had two hits and an RBI. Carson Crosby finished with two singles. Logan Donovan added a hit and two RBIs. Matt Nelson, Quinn Carr, and Carson Maeschen all had a single. Kenneth Swanson had an RBI. Talan Millage pitched five innings and allowed four earned runs on seven hits and two walks with seven strikeouts. Cole Ruesink pitched two innings and allowed an unearned run on a hit and two walks with three strikeouts.
Dell Rapids 8, Flandreau 7
After holding a 3-0 lead through two innings of play, Dell Rapids had to come from behind to get an 8-7 win over Flandreau. Flandreau got a singe run in the third, one in the fourth, and then four in the fifth to take a 6-3 lead. Dell Rapids got a run back in the fifth, and then had their own four-run sixth inning to go ahead 8-6. Flandreau got only one run in the top of seventh.
Cooper Frost and Ruesink each had a double with two RBIs. Will Zwach added a single and an RBI. Donovan finished with a hit, and Millage had an RBI. Carr pitched four innings and allowed six runs, two earned, on three hits and three walks with six strikeouts. Fersdahl pitched three innings and allowed an unearned run on two hits and a walk with six strikeouts.
Dell Rapids 26, Hamlin 10
The offense exploded for Dell Rapids in their 26-10 win over Hamlin on Sunday. Dell Rapids did trail 8-5 after two innings of play, but they kept scoring. They scored two runs in the third, six in the fourth, three in the fifth, two in the sixth, and finally eight more in the seventh.
Ruesink had four hits, one a double, and two RBIs. Connor Hanson had three hits and two RBIs. Carr had two hits and four RBIs. Millage finished with two hits and three RBIs. Zwach had two hits, one a double, and two RBIs. Fersdahl added a double and four RBIs. Nelson also had a double and an RBI. Donovan and Bunkers each had a single and an RBI. Peppel added an RBI.
