Both the West Central Trojan girls and boys soccer teams ended their 2022 regular season with wins on Thursday, September 29th. The girls team traveled to Mitchell, while the boys team traveled to Dakota Valley.
Girls: West Central 1, Mitchell 0
The Trojans recorded yet another shutout, and the second shutout against a AA school on Thursday in Mitchell. The Trojans and Kernals played to a 0-0 halftime score, but West Central got the lone goal in the second half for the 1-0 victory.
West Central finishes the regular season undefeated at 12-0-1 and only had two goals scored against them all season. The Trojans are currently in the top spot of seed points. The playoffs will begin on Tuesday, October 4th.
Boys: West Central 2, Dakota Valley 0
The boys team got their second win in program history, and second win over the Panthers this season, on Thursday. West Central scored a goal in each of the halves for the 2-0 win.
The Trojans finished their regular season with a record of 2-7. The boys team is currently in the eighth spot in seed points, with the top six qualifying for the state tournament bracket. The playoffs also begin on October 4th.
