Trojan Football Rolls to Big Win over Milbank

The West Central Trojan football team rolled to a big win on the road in Milbank on Friday, September 4th.  The Trojans ended the game in the middle of the third quarter on a 50-point win with a final score of 56-6.

It didn’t take long for the Trojans to get a score.  Just :53 into the game, Beckett Everson connected with Dylan Bettcher on a 26-yard touchdown pass.  The Trojans would score again with 9:53 to go in the opening quarter when Everson had a 28-yard touchdown pass to Keenan Hackett.  Braylon Robbins had a seven-yard touchdown run with 3:58 to go.  John Goehring made all three extra points for a 21-0 lead.

Milbank scored their only touchdown with 11:42 to go in the second quarter on a 51-yard pass.  The two-point conversion was no good, and the score was 21-6 in favor of West Central.  Boche Knight had a 63-yard touchdown reception from Everson seconds later.  Everson added a 13-yard touchdown pass to Tanner Wagner with 9:32 to play in the half.  Knight had another touchdown catch from Everson with 3:02 to go from three-yards away.  The final score of the half was a 39-yard touchdown pass from Everson to Hackett.  Goehring again made all the extra points in the second quarter, and the Trojans led 49-6 at halftime.

The game ended with 7:12 to play in the third quarter.  Robbins had his second touchdown of the night, this time a two-yard run.  Goehring made the extra point to put the lead at 50 points to end the game.

West Central had 394 yards of total offense, 183 passing yards and 211 rushing yards.  Milbank ended with 148 yards of offense, 165 passing yards and -17 rushing yards.  Everson was 10-14 passing with 183 yards and six touchdowns.  Hackett and Knight both had two receiving touchdowns.  Bettcher and Wagner each had one touchdown catch.  Robbins had 16 carries for 67 yards and two touchdowns.
