Dell Rapids scored seven straight runs to rally for a 7-5 win over West Central VFW Varsity on Monday, July 6th.
CJ Den Boer scored on a wild pitch in the top of the first for a 1-0 lead. Taylon Sichmeller would score on a wild pitch in the top of the second to make the score 2-0. In the top of the fifth inning, both Carson Johnson and Max Lewin scored on wild pitches to push the lead to 4-0. Dell Rapids put three runs on the board in the bottom of the fifth to cut the lead to 4-3. They added four more in the bottom of the sixth to pull in front 7-4. Hayes Cain had an RBI single in the top of the seventh.
Cain finished with two hits, one a double, and an RBI. Lewin also had a double. Den Boer, Maddax Jackson, and Kane Grace all had one hit each. Aiden Lenth pitched five innings and allowed three earned runs on six hits with three strikeouts. Grace pitched one inning and allowed four runs, one earned, on three hits and a walk with two strikeouts.
