The West Central VFW JV baseball team suffered a 13-3 road loss to Baltic 17U on Thursday, July 9th.
Baltic scored first in the bottom of the opening inning for a 1-0 lead. Kenny Arends scored on a wild pitch in the top of the third to tie the game 1-1. Baltic, however, scored two in the bottom of the third and five more in the bottom of the fourth for an 8-1 lead. Isaac Whiting had an RBI single and then later scored on a balk in the top of the fifth to cut the lead to 8-3. Baltic scored four more in the bottom of the fifth and then ended the game on the 10-run rule with a run in the bottom of the sixth.
Teeghan Breuer had two hits. Whiting ended with a single and an RBI. Arends ended with a triple. Carter Nelson, Kasey Fosheim, Archer Thomsen, and Jacob Phillips all had one hit each.
