Sioux Falls Christian scored nine straight runs in the middle innings in their 9-6 win over Humboldt/Hartford on Wednesday, June 12th.
Humboldt/Hartford got a run right away in the top of the first for an early 1-0 lead. Sioux Falls Christian took the lead with three runs in the bottom of the second. They added three more in the bottom of the third, one in the fourth, and two in the sixth for a 9-1 lead. Humboldt/Hartford put together a rally in the top of the seventh, scoring five times, but the rally fell short.
Zach Lorang had three hits, one a double, and an RBI. Cain Grocott finished with three singles and an RBI. Nick Lorang added two hits and an RBI. Will Nester had a double. Jesse Jost and Landen Holewa both had one hit each. Keaton Vessells pitched 1 1/3 innings and allowed three earned runs on a hit and four walks with one strikeout. CJ DenBoer pitched 1 1/3 innings and allowed three earned runs on two hits and four walks. JT Steckley threw 2 2/3 innings allowing two earned runs on three hits and a walk with two strikeouts. Holewa pitched 2/3 of an inning and allowed an earned run on two hits and a walk with two strikeouts.
