Late Runs Gives West Central Baseball Win

West Central scored six runs in the final two innings to earn a 9-4 win over Baltic on Sunday, May 12th.

Baltic scored the first two runs of the game.  They got a run in the second and another in the third for the 2-0 lead.  West Central scored one run in the top of the fourth and two more in the top of the fifth to take a 3-2 advantage.  Baltic would tie the game with a run in the bottom of the fifth.  West Central then scored two in the top of the sixth and four in the top of the seventh for a 9-3 lead.  Baltic only scored one run in the seventh.

Keaton Vessells had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs.  Rayce Whiting also had two hits.  Maison Schuldt added a single and two RBIs.  Caden Alfson had a double and an RBI.  Brodie Herr finished with a single and an RBI.  Anthony Lanham had a double, and Landen Holewa had a single.  Gunnar Alfson had an RBI.  Lanham pitched six innings and allowed three runs, all unearned, on three hits and four walks with three strikeouts.  Hayden Whiting pitched one inning and allowed an unearned run.
