West Central Baseball Can’t Overcome First Inning

A four-run first inning by Lennox was just enough to defeat West Central in high school baseball action on Sunday, April 14th.  West Central fell 4-2.

Lennox scored all four of their runs in the bottom of the first inning.  Brodie Herr had an RBI single in the top of the third inning to cut the lead to 4-1.  Landen Holewa drew a bases-loaded walk in the top of the sixth to cut the lead in half, 4-2.  West Central still had the bases loaded with one out in the inning, but a strikeout and groundout ended any further runs for West Central.

Herr had a single and an RBI.  Holewa had an RBI, and Will Nester had a single in the game.  Herr pitched 5 1/3 innings and allowed four runs, two earned, on five hits and three walks with six strikeouts.  Anthony Lanham pitched 2/3 of an inning and had two strikeouts.
