Big Second Quarter Lifts Trojans to Season Opening Football Win

The West Central Trojan football team made the long trip west to Custer to play the Custer Wildcats on Saturday, August 26th.  The Trojans scored 34 points in the second quarter alone on their way to a 50-13 victory.

Jeese Jost put the Trojans on the board with a rushing touchdown in the first quarter.  A two-point conversion made the score 8-0.  West Central then had a big second quarter.  Chet Carda had an interception and returned it for a touchdown.  Jude Jarding had two rushing touchdowns in the quarter, including a 65-yard run.  Benjamin Vuoung also returned an interception for a touchdown.  Aiden Bartmann capped the second quarter scoring with a rushing touchdown. West Central led 44-0 at halftime.

Custer got on the board with a touchdown late in the third quarter to make the score 44-6.  Preston Butts added a 69-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter.  The Wildcats got their final score in the closing seconds of the game.
