West Central Gold 14U scored eight straight runs to earn an 8-1 win over Madison Black at home on Wednesday, July 5th.
Madison broke a scoreless tie with a run in the top of the third inning. Noah Erickson was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to tie the game 1-1 in the bottom of the third. West Central scored four times in the bottom of the fourth. Jacob Mallinger scored on a wild pitch, Karson Vessells had a two-run single, and Erickson had an RBI double for a 5-1 lead. West Central scored three more runs in the bottom of the sixth. Vessells had an RBI single, Carson Eich had an RBI ground out, and Vessells scored on an error.
Vessells had two hits and three RBIs in the game. Erickson had a double and two RBIs. Karson Olson and Langdon Klinkhammer both had a single. Eich added an RBI. Klinkhammer pitched seven innings and allowed an unearned run no four hits and four walks with eight strikeouts.
