The Gamecocks defeated the Wood Ducks in the second meeting between the two Hartford/Humboldt amateur teams on Friday, July 7th.
The Gamecocks scored two runs in the top of the first on a two-run single by Ryan Healy. They added to their lead with two more runs in the third on RBI singles by Broc Haldeman and Brandon McKnight. Joe Hanisch scored in the top of the fifth to make it a 5-0 lead. Hanisch then added a two-run home run in the top of the ninth.
The Wood Ducks were held to just two hits in the game. Austin Smith and Nathan Adrian each had a single in the game.
Both teams had games on Sunday, July 9th. The Gamecocks lost a one-run game, 12-11, in Flandreau. The Wood Ducks lost a slugfest at home to Lennox by a score of 25-19.
