Dell Rapids Snaps West Central Baseball Winning Streak

The West Central high school baseball team had their five-game winning streak snapped in Dell Rapids on Monday, May 15th.  West Central fell to Dell Rapids 7-2.

All the runs were scored in the first two innings of the game.  Dell Rapids took the lead with three runs in the bottom of the first.  West Central cut into the lead in the top of the second.  Brody Jacobson and Deuce Sherard both had an RBI single to make the score 3-2.  Dell Rapids, however, scored four runs in the bottom of the second to extend the lead to 7-2.  That is where the score remained the rest of the game.

Jacobson and Sherard both had a single and an RBI.  Caden Alfson and Brodie Herr both had a single as well.  Owen Heath pitched three innings allowing seven runs, five earned, on five hits and four runs with three strikeouts.  Keaton Vessells pitched three innings without allowing a hit with four walks and six strikeouts.
