The West Central Trojans improved to 6-0 after a win at the Tri-Valley Mustangs on Friday, September 30th. The Trojans blanked the Mustangs 47-0.
West Central scored two touchdowns in three of the fourth quarters. Justin Zirpel had a 38-yard touchdown pass to Owen Heath with 4:41 to go in the first quarter. Zirpel added an eight-yard touchdown pass to Deuce Sherard with 2:56 in the quarter.
Zirpel got into the end zone himself on an eight-yard run with 9:11 left in the first half. He then connected with Heath again, this time on an eight-yard touchdown pass with 2:56 left in the second. The Trojans led 27-0 at halftime.
Aiden Bartman had a 16-yard touchdown run with 7:29 to play in the third quarter. That was the only score for West Central in that quarter. Jesse Jost had a four-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Caden Alfson threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Patrick Hammond with 4:35 left in the game.
West Central finished with 350 yards of offense, 214 passing yards and 136 rushing yards. Zirpel was 10-14 passing for 152 yards and three touchdowns. Heath had five catches for 60 yards and two touchdowns. Cambell Fischer was 6-7 on extra point attempts with the only miss due to a mishandled hold.
