The Colton Yard Goats legion baseball team scored early and often to help them to a 7-2 win over Volga on Wednesday, July 1st.
Brody Dybvig scored on a passed ball, and Braxton Allen had an RBI double for an early 2-0 lead. Dybvig hit an RBI sacrifice fly in the top of the second, and then two runs scored on an error to make the score 5-0. Denton Bicknase delivered a solo home run in the top of the third to extend the lead to 6-0.
Volga was able to get a run in the bottom of the fourth. Neither team would score in the fifth inning. Mason Hemme would score on a passed ball in the top of the sixth for a 7-1 score. Volga also got a run in the bottom of the sixth.
Allen had two hits, one a double, and an RBI. Dybvig also had a double with an RBI. Bicknase finished with a single and an RBI. Alex Wingen and Treyson Richter both had a single. Bicknase pitched six innings and allowed two earned runs on a hit and seven walks with five strikeouts. Allen pitched an inning and had two strikeouts.
