Tri-Valley White 16U Splits in Two Games

Tri-Valley White 16U played two games on Tuesday, July 9th.  They played Avera and the Sargents, splitting the two games on the night.

Avera 10, Tri-Valley White 9

A run in the bottom of the fifth gave Avera the late-inning win.  Avera scored two times in the bottom of the first for a 2-0 lead.  The score remained 2-0 until the top of the third inning, and that’s when the offenses came alive.  Tri-Valley scored three times in the top of the third for a 3-2 lead.  The lead didn’t last long as Avera scored four times in the bottom of the inning.  Tri-Valley then had four runs in the top of the fourth, while Avera scored three times.  Avera led 9-7 going into the fifth inning.  Tri-Valley tied the game with two runs in the top of the fifth, but Avera got an RBI sacrifice fly to win the game.

Blake Schmidt had a double and an RBI.  Bracken Sharpe, Cooper, and Gabriel VanDyke all had a single and an RBI.  Aden Woodraska added a double.  Zach Pester had a single.  Luke Strom and Sullivan Snethen each had an RBI.

Tri-Valley White 15, Sargents 7

Tri-Valley scored in every inning to win their second game of the night.  They put six runs on the board in the top of the first.  The Sargents responded with five runs in the bottom of the inning to make the score 6-5.  Tri-Valley continued to pound out runs.  They scored four in the second and five in the third.  The Sargents scored a single run in both the second and third innings.

Pester finished with three singles and two RBIs.  Strom had two hits, one a double, and two RBIs.  Woodraska also had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs.  VanDyke had two hits, one a double. Sharpe finished with two singles.  Cooper had a single with two RBIs.  Snethen and Owen Bunde both had a single and an RBI.
