Tri-Valley Baseball Scores First Win of Season

The Tri-Valley high school baseball team picked up their first win of the season in a come-from-behind victory over McCook Central/Montrose on Sunday, April 21st.

McCook Central/Montrose scored the first four runs of the game.  They got a run in the second inning and three more in the top of the third for a 4-0 lead. Tri-Valley took the lead in the bottom of the fourth with a big five-run inning.  Hunter Foster had an RBI single.  Cody Lofswold had an RBI ground ball and later scored on an error, and Treyson Richter had an RBI single for a 5-4 lead.  McCook Central/Montrose tied the game with a run in the top of the fifth.  Alex Wingen drove home the winning run with an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth.

Wingen had two singles and an RBI.  Richter and Foster both had an RBI and a single.  Lofswold finished with an RBI.  Landon Schenkel and Carter Sorenson both had a single.  Tyler Groenewold pitched four innings and allowed five runs, four earned, on nine hits and three walks with six strikeouts.  Schenkel pitched three innings and allowed two hits and four walks with three strikeouts.
