The Tri-Valley Mustang softball team remained unbeaten after two big wins on back-to-back nights. The Mustangs defeated Flandreau, 10-2, on Thursday, April 10th and then defeated Baltic, 20-0, on Friday, April 11th.
Tri-Valley 10, Flandreau 2
After a scoreless first inning, the Mustangs scored two runs in the top of the second inning. They added two more runs in the top of the third for a 4-0 lead. Flandreau cut the lead in half, 4-2, with two runs in the bottom of the fourth. The Mustangs then scored the next six runs. They had a five-run top of the fifth and then scored one more time in the sixth.
Emry Jones had four hits, two of them triples, with an RBI. Mattie Huwe also had four hits and a single. Syenna Halverson had two singles and three RBIs. Emery Pearson had two hits, one a triple. Keagan Kuchta also had two hits. Reagan Pearson added a triple with an RBI. Kadence Davey had a single and RBI. Izzy Davey pitched five innings and allowed two earned runs on five hits and a walk with eight strikeouts. K. Davey pitched two innings and allowed two walks and had three strikeouts.
Tri-Valley 20, Baltic 0
Tri-Valley scored six times in the top of the first inning. They scored 10 more in the top of the second and then four runs in the top of the fourth. The game ended on the 15-run rule.
Jones had three hits, two of them home runs, and five RBIs. K. Davey had four hits, including a triple and double, with two RBIs. Huwe had a home run and three RBIs. E. Pearson finished with a triple and double with an RBI. I. Davey ended with a triple. Keagan Kuchta had a double and an RBI. K. Davey pitched two innings and allowed one hit with three strikeouts. I. Davey pitched one inning and had a walk.
