Big Inning Helps Dakota Valley to Baseball Win over Tri-Valley

The Tri-Valley high school baseball team took to the road on Friday, April 5th for a game against Dakota Valley.  Dakota Valley used a six-run inning in a come-from-behind 10-7 win.

Tri-Valley started fast with a four-run top of the first inning.  Carter Sorenson had a two-run single and then scored on an error.  Hunter Foster had an RBI single for an early 4-0 lead.  Dakota Valley got two runs back in the bottom of the inning.  They would tie the game, 4-4, after two more runs in the bottom of the third.

Cyrus Kirstein put Tri-Valley back in front after scoring on a wild pitch in the top of the fourth inning.  Treyson Richter added an RBI sacrifice fly, and Brody Dybvig scored on a wild pitch to give Tri-Valley a 7-4 lead.  Dakota Valley, however, took advantage of a couple of errors and scored six times in the bottom of the fourth for a 10-7 lead.

Sorenson had two hits and two RBIs.  Richter and Foster both had a single and an RBI each.  Everett Althoff also had a single.  Landon Schenkel pitched 4 1/3 innings and allowed 10 runs, but only three earned, on nine hits and two walks with three strikeouts.  Sorenson pitched 1 2/3 innings walking two and striking out two batters.
