Tri-Valley Baseball Splits Two Games in Madison

The Tri-Valley high school baseball team played both Redfield and Madison in Madison on Sunday, March 29th.  They earned a win over Redfield but fell to Madison.

Tri-Valley 11, Redfield 10

After trailing by a run through five innings, Cole Hendrixson delivered a two-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put Tri-Valley ahead, which proved to be the winning run in the game against Redfield.  Brody Dybvig scored on a passed ball in the top of the first for an early 1-0 lead.  Redfield responded with three runs in the bottom of the first to grab a 3-1 advantage.  Tri-Valley had a big seven-run top of the second which included an three-run triple by Cooper Durick, and RBI doubles by Treyson Richter and Denton Bicknase.  Durick added another RBI double in the top of the third to put Tri-Valley ahead 9-3.  Redfield, however, had a seven-run inning of their own in the bottom of the third to go in front 10-9.  The score remained 10-9 until the sixth inning.

Durick had three hits, a triple and two doubles, with four RBIs.  Hendrixson also had three hits, including two doubles, and two RBIs.  Bicknase and Richter each had a double and an RBI.  Parker Atwood added a single and an RBI.  Dybvig had a double.  Lawson Schneiderman and Dante Nehman both had a single.

Schneiderman pitched two innings and allowed eight runs, seven earned, on three hits and three walks with two strikeouts.  Reed Smith tossed three innings and allowed two earned runs on four hits and a walk with two strikeouts.  Durick also pitched two innings walking one and striking out four.

Madison 12, Tri-Valley 2

Dybvig scored on a passed ball in the top of the first inning to give Tri-Valley an early 1-0 lead, but Madison scored the next 11 runs over four innings to lead 11-1 going into the fifth inning.  Dybvig had an RBI triple in the top of the fifth.  Madison would end the game on the 10-run rule with a run in the bottom of the inning.

Dybvig had two hits, including a triple, and an RBI.  Gage Egger also had a single.  Tristen Bunde pitched 2 2/3 innings and allowed six runs, but all unearned, on three hits and two walks with one strikeout.  Bicknase pitched an inning allowing five runs, three earned, on two hits and three walks.  Kade Oehlke also pitched an inning and allowed an earned run on two hits and a walk.
