Mustang Volleyball Falls at Home to #3 Chargers

The Tri-Valley Mustang volleyball team hosted the #3 ranked Sioux Falls Christian Chargers on Thursday, October 16th.  The Chargers took the match in straight sets by scores of 25-13, 25-14, and 25-14.

Sioux Falls Christian took an early 5-1 lead to start the first set.  Tri-Valley then went on a 5-1 run of their own to tie the score 6-6.  The Chargers held a one-point lead, 9-8, before going on a 6-1 run to make the score 15-9.  The Chargers held Tri-Valley to just four more points the rest of the set for a 25-13 win.

The second set started close with the Chargers taking a 3-2 lead.  They would then go on a 5-1 run to extend their lead to 8-3.  The Chargers followed that run with a 6-1 spurt to push the lead to 14-4.  Sioux Falls Christian was able to cruise from there to a 25-14 win.

The third set also started with a small 3-2 advantage for the Chargers.  They extended the lead to 7-3.  Sioux Falls Christian slowly kept building on the lead to a score of 14-6 and then 16-9.  The lead grew to 22-12 before another 25-14 win to take the match.

The Mustangs will host Elk Point-Jefferson on Tuesday, October 21st.
