Tri-Valley 17U Maroon Headed to State

The Tri-Valley Maroon 17U team punched their ticked to the 2025 South Dakota VFW State Tournament after two big wins in the “Last Chance” bracket on Sunday, July 20th.

Lawson Schneiderman held Letcher to just two hits over four innings with one walk and one strikeout as the offense scored 12 runs in the first two innings. Tri-Valley scored five times in the top of the first and seven more in the second for a 12-0 lead.  They added five more in the top of the fourth before the game ended on the 15-run rule.

Cole Hendrixson had two hits and three RBIs.  Abbott Moeller had two hits and two RBIs.  Cooper Durick also had two hits.  Schneiderman added a single with three RBIs.  Treyson Richter had a double and an RBI.  Bentley McMillen and Cooper Nielsen both had a hit in the game.

Tri-Valley Maroon 14, West Central Gold 2

Tri-Valley scored in every inning but the fifth to punch their ticket to state with a 14-2 win.  They scored two runs in the top of the first, five in the second, four in the third and three more in the fourth for a 14-0 lead.  West Central got a run in the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings, but the game ended on the 10-run rule.

Moeller had three hits and two RBIs.  Bentley McMillen added two singles and two RBIs.  Richter had two hits with an RBI.  Kobe Krome and Hendrixson each had a double with two RBIs.  Durick ended with a single and two RBIs.  Schneiderman and Nielsen each had a single.  Evan Focken pitched four innings and allowed an unearned run on three hits and four walks with three strikeouts.  Krome pitched one inning and allowed an earned run on two hits with two strikeouts.

State Tournament Information

The state tournament will be held in Northville on Friday, July 25th through Sunday, July 27th.
