Tri-Valley 17U White Wins Two

The Tri-Valley 17U White team earned two wins on Monday, June 16th.  They defeated HyVee and Plains on the night.

Tri-Valley 21, HyVee 2

After HyVee scored a run in the top of the first inning, it was all Tri-Valley.  Team White scored five times in the bottom of the first and eight more in the bottom of the second for a 13-1 lead.  HyVee got another run in the top of the third, but Tri-Valley responded with eight more again in the bottom of the inning for a 21-2 lead.  HyVee was held scoreless in the fourth inning, and the game ended on a mercy rule.

Evan had two hits, including a triple, and four RBIs.  Blain had two singles.  Elijah added a double and an RBI.  Mitchell had a single with two RBIs.  Kadyn had a hit with an RBI.  Blake, Bracken, Zach, and Abbot all had one hit each in the game.  Blake pitched three innings and allowed two runs, one earned, on three hits and two walks with four strikeouts.  Cooper pitched one inning walking two batters and striking out one.

Tri-Valley 5, Plains 4

A sixth-inning rally helped Tri-Valley to a 5-4 win over Plains.  Plains scored two runs in the top of the first inning, but Tri-Valley tied the game, 2-2, with two runs in the bottom of the second.  The score remained 2-2 until the top of the fifth inning.  Plains scored two times to take a 4-2 lead.  Tri-Valley scored three times, all with two outs, in the bottom of the sixth to get the come-from-behind win.

Abbot delivered the two-run, game-winning hit in the bottom of the sixth inning finished with two hits and three RBIs.  Evan had a single with an RBI.  Kadyn, Blain, Blake, and Bracken all had one hit each.  Zach pitched five innings and allowed four runs, three earned, on three hits and four walks with nine strikeouts.  Kadyn pitched one inning and had one walk.
