Mustang Football Makes Jump to 11A in 2024

After a 6-4 season in class 11B last season, the Tri-Valley Mustangs make the jump back into 11A in 2024 which will feature a brand new schedule.  The Mustangs will make one trip out west, but then play against familiar teams such as Dakota Valley, Dell Rapids, and Madison.

Tri-Valley returns 16 letter winners from last season, but only three returning offensive starters and five defensive starters.  Returning starters are seniors Noah Eggert and Colby McAreavey, and juniors Brody Dybvig, Landyn Reiser, Luke Nehlich, and Connor Carruthers.  The team will also look to seniors Bracken Sharpe, Espn Althoff, Riley Easton, Reece DeVries, and Jose Fuentes to see significant action.  The Mustangs will also look to juniors Ty Oyen, Owen Effling, Parker Hemme, Myles DeWitt, Lawson Lodmel, and Jesus Mendoza for contributions on the field.

“Our strengths will be our quickness and athleticism, especially with our linebackers and offensive backfield.  We will look to overcome some of our youth and inexperience this season, but if we can develop, we should be a better team by the end of the season,” said head coach Dan Snethen.

The Mustangs start the 2024 season on the road to Custer on Friday, August 30th.
