Dell Rapids Ends Mustang Boys Season

The Tri-Valley Mustangs (6-14) had their 2022-2023 season come to an end in Dell Rapids in the opening round of the Region 3A tournament on Tuesday, February 28th.  The Mustangs fell to the Quarriers 64-31.

Tri-Valley led for the first three minutes of the game after getting the first three-point basket.  Once Dell Rapids took the lead with 4:50 to play in the first quarter, they kept rolling from there.  Dell Rapids led 19-5 at the end of the first quarter, 33-13 at halftime, and 55-21 at the end of the third quarter.

The Mustangs shot just 23% (10-43) from the field, 15% (3-20) from three-point area, and 67% (8-12) from the free-throw line.  Dell Rapids was 51% (26-51) shooting overall, 33% (4-12) on three-point attempts, and 50% (8-16) from the free-throw line.

Noah Haynes had a team-high 16 points with seven rebounds and three steals.  Trey Johnson had six points and three rebounds.  Brady Benson had three points.  Logan Ellison finished with five rebounds.
