Tri-Valley Boys Basketball Looking to Use Momentum of Off Season

The Tri-Valley Mustang boys basketball team will look to use momentum from a “fantastic off season” according to head coach Brandon Feterl.

“We have a lot of young talent coming into the building and seeing that mesh with some of our upperclassmen was really fun to see.  We went to a couple of different team camps and hosted a jamboree with a few other teams.  I was really excited with what I saw.  We also spent time in the gym on our shooting machine and open gyms,” added Feterl.

The Mustangs finished 5-15 last season and lost to Dell Rapids in the opening round of the Region 3A tournament.  This year’s team will return three senior starters from a year ago, Logan Ellison, Carter Sorenson, and Trey Johnson.  The fourth senior on the team, Isaac Langloss, will also be a contributor on the team.  Tri-Valley will also have junior Alex Wingen and sophomore Tristen Bunde back this season, both of which played major minutes last season.

“Everything starts with playing defense as a unti and getting stops.  After that we will try to open up the floor with transition and play with pace.  We have athletes who can get up and down the floor and will look to take advantage of that.  I expected us to be improved.  We have some young talented kids coming through,” said Feterl.

Tri-Valley starts the 2023-204 season at home against Parkston on Friday, December 8th.
