Quarrier Softball Falls to Panthers

The Dell Rapids Quarrier softball team suffered a 15-0 loss on the road against the Dakota Valley Panthers on Tuesday, April 14th.  The Panthers scored in every inning and ended the game on the 15-run rule in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Dakota Valley got a run in the bottom of the first.  The big inning came in the bottom of the second as the Panthers scored eight times for a 9-0 lead.  They added four more runs in the bottom of the third and then scored the final two runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Dell Rapids was held to just four hits in the game.  Lexi Scherff, Parker Matzke, Emma Lanpher, and Maci Millage all had one single each.  Emily Baker pitched 1 2/3 innings and allowed nine earned runs on seven hits and three walks with two strikeouts.  Scherff pitched 1 2/3 innings as well and allowed six runs, five earned, on eight hits and a walk with one strikeout.
