The Dell Rapids Quarrier volleyball team hosted the Sioux Falls Christian Chargers on Thursday, September 1st. The Chargers won in straight sets by scores of 25-15, 25-17, and 25-23.
Dell Rapids had an early 8-5 lead in the opening set. Sioux Falls Christian answered with a 10-1 run for a 15-9 lead. The Chargers pushed that lead to 22-13 before winning the first set 25-15. In the second set, the Chargers got out to the early lead at 8-2. Dell Rapids battled to get within a point 12-11, but the Chargers went on a 6-2 run to push the lead to 18-13. After Dell Rapids made the score 21-17, Sioux Falls Christian scored the final four points of the set.
The Chargers jumped out to an early 7-1 lead in the third set. The Quarriers responded with a 7-1 run of their own to tie the score 8-8. The two teams battled back and forth throughout much of the rest of the third set. Dell Rapids held a slim 21-19 advantage late. The Chargers went on a 3-0 run for a 22-21 lead. The Quarriers then pulled ahead 23-22, but Sioux Falls Christian again scored the final three points to win the set and the match.
Maddie Henry finished with nine kills and two ace serves. Lauryn Kloth had five kills. Sophi Randall had 15 set assists, two ace serves, six digs, and a block. Lexi Ingalls had a team-high seven digs. Kylee Fiddelke added six digs anda. block. Clara Justice also had a block.
