Dell Rapids Baseball Rolls Past McCook Central

The Dell Rapids high school baseball team rolled to a 16-0 win in three innings in Salem on Thursday, April 9th.  Dell Rapids had a big second inning, scoring 13 times.

Drake Eastman had an RBI ground out in the top of the first to give Dell Rapids an early 1-0 lead.  Joe Trumbauer was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to start the big second inning.  Thomas LaVoy followed with an RBI single.  Jackson Peppel was also hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to make the score 4-0.  Eastman added another RBI ground out.  Connor Hanson then delivered a two-run single for a 7-0 lead.  Hanson would later score on a passed ball, and Kenny Swanson scored on an error.

The inning continued with an RBI single by Trumbauer.  LaVoy drove home two more runs with a double.  Peppel added an RBI single, and Eastman hit an RBI sacrifice fly to complete the scoring in the second inning.  Dell Rapids would lead 14-0.  They scored two more runs in the top of the third when Trumbauer drew a bases loaded walk and LaVoy hit an RBI single.

LaVoy had three hits, including a double, and four RBIs.  Peppel ended with a triple and single with two RBIs.  Swanson had two hits, including a double.  Trumbauer had a single with three RBIs.  Hanson added a hit and two RBIs. Carson Maeschen finished with a single, and Eastman had three RBIs.  Hanson pitched all three innings and allowed two hits with four strikeouts.
