The Dell Rapids Quarrier softball team suffered a home loss to the West Central Trojans on Thursday, April 9th. The Trojans scored early and often to help them to a 15-4 win.
West Central put four runs on the board in the top of the first inning. They scored four more times in the top of the second for an 8-0 lead. Aisley Grib led off the bottom of the second with a triple and later scored on a passed ball. Gabriella Carstensen drove home two with a single to make the score 8-3. The Trojans, however, added five more runs in the top of the third for a 13-3 lead. Lexi Scherff had an RBI single in the bottom of the fourth. West Central had two more runs in the top of the sixth.
Carstensen had two hits and two RBIs. Scherff also had two singles with an RBI. Grib finished with a triple, and Ella Johnson had a single. Emily Baker pitched six innings and allowed 15 runs, 10 earned, on 12 hits and seven walks with five strikeouts.
