Mudcats Fall to Blue Teal

The Dell Rapids Mudcats traveled to Flandreau to face the Blue Teal on Sunday, June 22nd.  The Blue Teal belted 19 hits and took the win 18-5.

The Mudcats scored three runs in the top of the first for an early 3-0 lead, but the lead was short-lived.  Flandreau scored seven times in the bottom of the first to go in front 7-3.  The Mudcats got within two runs, 7-5, after scoring two more in the top of the second, but that was as close as they would get.  The Blue Teal added three runs in the second, five more in the third, and three in fourth for the 18-5 win.

Jake Goble had three hits, two of them doubles, and four RBIs.  Grant Olson had the only other hit for the Mudcats.  John Spaeth pitched one inning and allowed 10 runs, nine earned, on nine hits.  Olson pitched two innings and allowed three earned runs on five hits and a walk with two strikeouts.  Dusty Haffeman pitched one inning and allowed five earned runs on five hits.
