The Dell Rapid Phils won three more games recently and improved to 7-2 on the year. The Phils defeated Lake Norden and Warner/Ipswich/Northville on Thursday, June 19th. They also earned a win over Milbank on Sunday, June 22nd.
Dell Rapids 9, Lake Norden 1
The Phils scored twice in the bottom of the first and three more in the second to take an early 5-0 lead against the Badgers. Lake Norden plated their run in the top of the fourth inning, but Dell Rapids answered with three in the bottom of the inning and another in the fifth to earn the 9-1 win.
Tad Tjaden had two hits, one a double, and two RBIs. Drake Eastman had a double with an RBI. Talan Millage added a single and an RBI. Kenny Swanson had a double, and Gauge Bunkers had a single. Jackson Peppel ended with an RBI. Connor Hanson pitched four innings and allowed an earned run on a hit and four walks with four strikeouts. Lincoln Fersdahl pitched one inning and struck out three batters.
Dell Rapids 6, W.I.N. 2
Warner/Ipswich/Northville (W.I.N.) scored a single run in both the top of the first and second innings to take a 2-0 lead. Dell Rapids grabbed the lead with a five-run bottom of the third. The Phils added one more run in the bottom of the fourth.
Cole Ruesink had a triple with an RBI. Hanson and Jackson Ahlers both ended with a single and an RBI. Eastman pitched 4 1/3 innings and allowed two runs, one earned, on two hits and five walks with 10 strikeouts. Fersdahl pitched 2/3 of an inning and had a walk with two strikeouts.
Dell Rapids 11, Milbank 0
The Phils scored in every inning as the pitching staff held Milbank to just three hits in the game. Dell Rapids scored a run in the first, two in the second, and four in the third for a 7-0 lead. They kept rolling and had a run in the fourth and three more in the fifth before the game ended on the 10-run rule.
Eastman had two hits, one a triple, and two RBIs. Tjaden had two singles and two RBIs. Ahlers finished with a double and an RBI. Bunkers had a single and an RBI. Hanson and Swanson both had one hit each. Talan Millage finished with an RBI. Tjaden threw four innings and allowed three hits and three walks with five strikeouts. Fersdahl finished the game by pitching a scoreless inning.
