The Dell Rapids Mudcats cruised to a 15-0 home win over the Humboldt/Hartford Gamecocks on Sunday, July 7th.
The Mudcats scored two runs in the bottom of the first for an early 2-0 lead. They scored two more in the bottom of the third to extend the lead to 4-0. The big blow came in the bottom of the fourth when the Mudcats scored 11 times. The game then ended on the 15-run rule in five innings.
Six of the 13 hits for Dell Rapids were extra base hits. Dalton Lehnen finished with three hits, one a double, and an RBI. Ty Hoglund had two hits, including a home run, and three RBIs. Carter Gullickson had two hits, one a double, and three RBIs. Kole Zimmerman added a home run and two RBIs. Grant Olson had a double with two RBIs. Kris Regas also had a double and an RBI. Spence Freudenthal had a single and an RBI. Mark Abrahamson and Dalton Allen both had one hit each.
Lehnen pitched all five innings and allowed one hit and one walk with nine strikeouts.
