The Dell Rapids picked up three more wins in their last three games. They defeated Madison on Sunday, June 16th and then won both games of a double-header against the Humboldt/Hartford Wood Ducks on Sunday, June 23rd.
Dell Rapids Mudcats 13, Madison Broncos 2
The Mudcats took advantage of 15 walks issued by the Madison pitching staff, and six different players recorded hits in the game. Dalton Lehnen and Spencer Freudenthal both had two hits each. Carter Gullickson, Ty Hoglund, Mark Abrahamson, and Trevor Freudenthal all had one hit each.
Lehnen pitched six innings allowing one run on four hits with nine strikeouts.
Dell Rapids Mudcats 4, Humboldt/Hartford Wood Ducks 2
The Mudcats fell behind 2-1 in the second inning, but later tied the game, 2-2, in the fifth inning. Dell Rapids then scored two runs in the top of the seventh for the win.
Lehnen recorded three hits and an RBI. Abrahamson finished with two hits, including a double, and an RBI. Chad Hunt and Kole Zimmerman both also had a hit. Lehnen pitched all seven innings allowing two runs on three hits with eight strikeouts.
Dell Rapids Mudcats 8, Humboldt/Hartford Wood Ducks 1
After the Wood Ducks took the lead in the first inning, the Mudcats scored the next eight runs. The scored two in the second, one in the fourth, and then had a big five-run sixth inning.
Zimmerman had two hits, including a three-run home run in the sixth inning. Lehnen had two hits and two RBIs. John Spaeth finished with two hits and an RBI. S. Freudenthal added two hits, and Abrahamson had one hit. Dalton Allen pitched the first five innings for the win, allowing a run on three hits with six strikeouts.
