The Dell Rapids high school baseball team ended their regular season with a road win against West Central on Tuesday, May 14th. Dell Rapids trailed after the first inning, but scored 12 straight runs on their way to a 12-2 victory.
West Central scored a run on a single in the bottom of the first inning for a 1-0 lead, but the lead was short lived. Dell Rapids tied the game in the top of the second and then took a 2-1 lead after a run in the top of the third. The offense kept cruising scoring three runs in the fourth, five in the fifth, and then two more in the sixth for a 12-1 lead. West Central scored a run in the bottom of the sixth, but the game ended on the 10-run rule.
Jack Henry had four hits and three RBIs. Mason Stubbe had three hits, one a double, and three RBIs. Drake Eastman finished with two singles and an RBI. Tad Tjaden also had two singles. Lincoln Fersdahl added a hit and two RBIs. Tjaden also pitched all six innings and allowed two earned runs on three hhits and two walks while having 12 strikeouts.
