Quarrier Softball Wins Final Regular Season Home Game

The Dell Rapids Quarrier softball team had their final regular season home game on Monday, May 13th.  The Quarriers hosted the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies and took the win 7-0.

In the bottom of the first inning, Paige Trewin hit a sacrifice fly that scored both Kylee Fiddelke and Lexi Ingalls for a 2-0 lead.  Katie Kvigne had an RBI triple, and Rylee Halverson followed with an RBI sacrifice fly to extend the lead to 4-0 in the second inning.  Lexi Scherff added an RBI ground out, and Ingalls had an RBI single in the bottom of the fourth making the score 6-0.  Claire Wynja had an RBI double in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Kvigne had two hits, one a triple, and an RBI.  Ingalls finished with two singles and an RBI.  Fiddelke added two singles.  Wynja finished with a double and an RBI.  Makaylah O’Meara also had a double.  Trewin had two RBIs.  Halverson and Scherff both had one RBI each.

Kvigne pitched all seven innings and allowed just one hit and four walks with 14 strikeouts.
