The Dell Rapids Quarrier girls basketball team hosted the Flandreau Fliers on Thursday, December 28th. Flandreau took control of the game in the first quarter on their way to a 66-26 victory.
The Fliers built a 26-7 lead by the end of the first quarter. The lead grew to 43-14 at halftime. Dell Rapids scored seven points again in the third quarter and trailed 55-21 going into the final quarter.
The Quarriers shot 31% (11-36) overall from the field, 33% (4-12) from three-point area, and 0-2 from the free-throw line. Flandreau finished the game shooting 49% (20-41) overall, 29% (4-14) from three-point area, and 76% (22-29) from the free-throw line.
Elly Olson finished with 13 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals to lead Dell Rapids. Jersi Schultz and Rorie Thoreson both had four points and one rebound each. Clara Justice had three points and two rebounds. Shelby Welbig added two points and three rebounds. Maya DeStigter had three assists.
